Jungers Farms Butchery
Offering locally sourced products since 2022
- ABOUT US -

When Covid caused shut downs of major processing plants, Lindsey and her husband Matt needed somewhere to process the pigs they raise. With other lockers full, they decided to open their own butcher shop in a remodeled barn. Opening February of 2020, the community response was very positive so they began taking steps to allow them to work with other local livestock producers to process their animals as well.
A heartbreaking fire in May of 2020 took out the entire building. While this was a devastating loss for the family, it gave them an opportunity to rebuild and be able to accommodate more of a variety of livestock so they could help even more local livestock producers. After an incredibly long and tenuous rebuild with the help of friends, family, and neighbors, they were able to reopen their new building in October of 2023. Since their reopening, the team at Jungers Farms Butchery has been working hard to bring better quality, locally sourced meats and other products to Watertown and surrounding areas.
In 2024 the team was awarded the "Rookie Business of the Year" through the Watertown Chamber of Commerce. Their strive for excellence is seen in all they do. Every meat cut is vacuum sealed and labeled with the local farm it was sourced from, ensuring their clients never have to wonder where their meat is coming from.
Throughout 2024, the team was active with a freezer truck loaded with the wide variety of cuts - attending Watertown Farmers Market, vendor shows, and doing "pop-up" sales around the area. The winter of 2024, the team was faced with having to fix up the freezer truck or find a different way to bring the meat to town. Working with a friend, they found the perfect location in Watertown on the corner of Highway 81 and Jenson Ave. Opening at the end of June in 2025, Jungers Farms Butchery and Marketplace offers a location in Watertown for us to sell the locally raised meat in addition to other South Dakota made products including handmade bread, eggs, pickles, fresh produce, and more!
